Two prominent Norfolk County businesses are joining ranks to provide an exceptional experience combining passion, history, and a sense of place. Burning Kiln Winery produces and offers award-winning wines and seasonal service on the patio, with Magnolia Hospitality Co. proudly presenting Canned Heat — a culinary adventure that explores the mouthwatering journey of farm-to-table food. The combination of local wine and fare, merge the flavours of Norfolk County in a way that demands to be shared.
“There’s no better place in Norfolk to relax, savour a glass of Burning Kiln wine, and enjoy the view of meticulously groomed vineyards overlooking the UNESCO World’s Biosphere of Long Point, than our patio. It enhances the power of a perfect pairing. Like when wines made with passion meet foods created with the same level of intensity. It’s inspiring. Winemaker Lydia Tomek creates wines in the way that Chef Ryan Rivard creates locally sourced dishes. Both from the same terroir. Both with the same philosophy; to share the taste of Norfolk County. That’s why we’re thrilled to partner with Chef Ryan Rivard to present this new venture, Canned Heat, here at the winery,” stated Karen Matthews, General Manager of Burning Kiln Winery
For Magnolia Hospitality Co., this is an exciting opportunity to introduce it’s newest team member, Canned Heat, which joins The Combine & Lago Trattoria at Norfolk’s premier hospitality group. The entire crew will continue their efforts to provide the highest quality food and beverage experience in the county. Adds Chef Ryan Rivard, “Canned heat is a unique vision, a kitchen in a sea can with a wood burning pizza oven attached, all sitting in plain view of Burning Kiln’s patio goers. Expect the same attention to detail and great service that you’ve become accustomed to with some great new Norfolk twists mixed in. Let The People Eat!”
Canned Heat’s food will be launched on Burning Kiln’s patio beginning in June. Patio service at the winery will available starting Friday, May 10th and continuing every weekend until Victoria Day when the service will be available seven days a week. Operating from Tuesday through Saturday, 11-8, and on Sunday and Monday from 11-4 with the winery hours extending until 6pm.
