Port Dover boasts Longest Running Canada Day Calithumpian Parade (founded 1867).

Port Dover has been celebrating Canada’s birthday since confederation. Join the party for a day of family fun.

The Port Dover Lions run various events all day throughout town on Canada Day July 1st.

9:00 am – Soap Box Derby at Main & Chapman Sts.
Open to children 8-14 years of age. Registration begins at 8am. Race starts at 9am.

11:00 am – Canine Classic Dog Show
All Breed Canine Classic Dog Show in Powell Park, judging at 12 (noon) in various categories

11:00 am – Boat Parade
Join the excitement at the waterfront… Enjoy the Boat Parade from the pier. Commercial Work Boats and Pleasure Craft are decorated and judged with prizes in 3 categories. Commercial, Pleasure Craft-Steel hull, Pleasure Craft – Power & Sail.

2:00 pm – Calithumpian Parade
Canada Calithumpian Parade. Parade route: Clifford St. to Main St., downtown to Clinton St. to St. George St. and return to the start area. Registration and assembly of parade floats at upper St. George Street at 12 (noon). 1:00 pm the float judging will occur in the start area.

7 pm to Dusk – Evening Concert at Silver Lake

Featuring Route 6 (Free admission if wearing a Canada Day Button or $2.00 admission)

Approx. 10 pm – Fireworks

Fireworks at Silver Lake Park, St. Patrick Street. Sponsored by Port Dover Lions Club
