In the early 1800’s lumbering and sawmills were ubiquitous in Norfolk County leading to the near clear cut of Norfolk County’s Carolinian forest. To mitigate this ecological disaster the Forestry Station was established in 1908. This exhibition explores the relationship between wood and furniture, craftsmanship and utilitarianism during the 1850’s to 1900’s
