Have you been on a paddleboard before? They can look a little intimidating but I promise, they are so much fun! Finally took my board out this past week for the first time this season and had a blast at Waterford Ponds! Waterford is a hub for active living in Norfolk County. The trail network, the amazing Black Bridge, the weekly Waterford Farmer’s Market and the ponds (perfect for canoeing, paddleboard and kayaking) makes Waterford the perfect destination for an active life.
South Coast Watersports sets up every Wednesday for rentals and they have a load of fun activities on paddleboards coming up. Intro to Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), SUP yoga, racing, SUP polo and more. I will be live this Wednesday June 21st at 4:30pm to showcase active living in Waterford. Join me on the Norfolk Tourism’s Facebook account to see all the action!
Paddleboarding is very close to the top of my list of summer activities so you will hear about other fantastic locations around Norfolk County to explore this summer.
It is strawberry season and Norfolk’s farmers grow more of these juicy berries then anywhere in Ontario. I invite you to join me this Thursday, June 22nd for a gentle yoga session at Meadow Lynn Farms in Simcoe to celebrate the plentiful strawberry harvest. There are so many events around the county to get you off the couch and moving around at this time of year…
How about visiting Ralphy’s Retreat, a local sanctuary for pot-bellied pigs and farm animals. Come to Ralphy’s Retreat Open House on June 25th. Expect a wide variety of activities including children’s games and yoga with the pigs!!!
