Staying cool in Norfolk County is never a problem!
From beaches to creeks to channels to ponds, finding a beautiful spot to get wet is easy!
The natural beauty of the area makes Norfolk the perfect stop for a summer getaway.
Whether you love to sunbathe or be active, you will find your little happy place in Norfolk. I absolutely love our beaches. Long Point is at the top of my list: it offers a long white sand beach perfect for a long summer evening stroll or fun in the sun. Literally, 40 kilometers of sand! The natural landscape is so unique, it’s actually recognized as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. If you are like me, a nature lover, you won’t be disappointed with this spectacular location! Bird watching is amazing especially if you make your way to the end of the point with Long Point Tours!
Turkey Point is so much fun! This is the perfect spot to be active! I love the upbeat vibes and the variety of activities available. Turkey Point Watersports have some amazing rentals for you! Take a seadoo and ride to the famous Pottahawk island for the day, rent a water trampoline to get the kids pumped about their summer vacation or check out their pontoon or fishing boats! Stay for dinner and create memories with your friends and family!
To be able to enjoy a weekend of fun, I suggest you rent a cottage, stay at a B&B, go camping or try glamping at Long Point Eco Adventures. This wonderful attraction is packed with super fun activities! So much going on, I will be there on August 10th broadcasting live at 2pm with a group who will be experiencing an apiary tour!
If you want some thrills this summer, think Long Point Eco Adventures … Kayak fishing, axe throwing, star gazing, and so much more at this location! This is a getaway on its own!
The Lynn River Music & Arts Festival is also coming up the weekend of August 4 to 7. The beach is fun but the local art scene is also amazing! Come dance to live tunes, walk around the picturesque park to discover the vendors and don’t forget the community showcase stage that will be featuring health and wellness. Get ready for some yoga, zumba, tai chi and more! Make a point to stop by and discover what activities are in Norfolk, see demos and join in the fun!
Tree Climbing Canada will also be set up at the festival. This is your opportunity to climb trees in a safe environment. (Hint: book your climb ahead of time to avoid disappointment). There is truly something for everybody at this event, come celebrate the halfway point of summer!
