Long Point Inner Bay
Long Point is said to be the most remote and vast piece of wildness left in Southern Ontario and is an internationally recognized World Biosphere Reserve.
This paddle route takes you deep into the marshes the Big Creek National Wildlife Area. Teeming with biodiversity it is home to a variety of rare and endangered species of amphibian and reptile, some only found in this part of Canada. Long Point is host to 390 different songbird species each spring and fall as it is a major refuged and stopover for migrants. Speculation or not, it’s easy to see why it just may be southern Ontario’s last frontier!
The best put-in location for this route is located at the causeway, at the mouth of Big Creek where it hits Lake Erie.
