Halidimand Norfolk Women’s Services has over 60 families they hope to be able to support through the holiday season and Townsend Butchers want to partner with the community to help. A multi generation family owned and operated butcher in the Simcoe area, Townsend Butchers knows how important it is to have a safe and happy Christmas and beleives that as a community no one should be left out. Through a matching campaign we hope to engage the community and together bring Christmas to the table for the families of the Halidmand Norfolk Women’s Services. Townsend Butchers is again matching the first $500 in donations.
Last year was the first year of the campaign and was very successful. “We were able to provide a ham to every family and the additional funds raised went towards providing the shelter with fresh meat product well into the new year.”- Steve Meidema. Owners Steve and Jeff Miedema hope to repeat that success and be able to provide a Christmas ham to every family on the HNWS’s list with the hopes to raise enough additional funds to provide needed product until next year. “Everyone is in the giving spirit around the holidays but we know that the need at the shelter is year long” – Jeff Meidema. “We are asking our customers join us in this effort in spirit of Christmas”.
